  1. What do you put on your printable DVD’s?
Do you use Photoshop to make a custom template? If so how?
    Simple wrapping text with background?
Scan original DVD then use that image? (never tried this does it work?)
What programs do you use to make the label Epson CD Print etc...?
Please post some cool templates that you have created. Since I dont have any

I usually find a picture of the movie from Google then paste it in the Epson CD Print program. That damn hole in the middle usually ends up right over something important . SO what I am looking for is a place where I can download the original image printed on the DVD. But most likely this place does not exist.

Lite-On SHOW 812s, Benq 8x inkjet printable (they only burn at 4x )
Epson stylus photo 900 with Epson CD Print Software, JVC XV-412bk DVD player.
Everything works great just need to improve the looks of my disks. Thanks for the help.

there are many cover sites that will offer you images of the exact DVD. Personally, I just scan my copy, and then print it right on my backup.

  3. This is true you can find the poster of any movie but it looks like crap when you import it and the DVD center is right in the middle of text or a photo.

Use the Epson Print CD software that you have. Here are a couple of sites to get your covers & labels :-

  7. Almost all of the images you download from these sites will look better if you manipulate them in Photoshop first... doing a simple auto color, contrast and brightness balance... then depending on the label/image a despeckle and/or sharpen.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose... also play around with your printer settings- sometimes you'll getting better looking results from the not-so obviously settings.

i always scan my discs & print a label. works ok except for discs without a full-faced print (you see the silver disc). these give a rainbow colored image. it's good enough for me, though!

  10. I keep it fairly simple. Depending on what's on the disc, I will sometimes add a graphic (like a logo or simple graphic element). Most of the time, it's just text. I don't have any reason to go all out on the label. As long as the information is there, it's fine. Not to mention it's neater than my handwriting.

You keep the scans after you print 'em? I don't bother.
I don't rent most of the movies I back up so I usually download the covers and labels, after I print'em - they're history. :P

    thats a different story
I too scan all my originals (covers/booklets/discs) basically right away, just after I've made its backup copy first.
I used to go for 1200dpi, then 600dpi, and now I scan at 300dpi only, because I couldn't see any difference when print it out at original 1:1 size.
So 300dpi BMP is what I keep them at.
And I have some 10 discs full of scans, probably about 50GB of scans in total lol I know, its crazy, come to think of it lol
