  1. See above - my budget is is up to $80.

    My only alternatives are to run RCA cable all across the room from the computer to my home theater receiver which also means I need to get a new soundcard or just to live with being unable to read complete filenames.

  2. Panasonic DVD-S47 player has long-filename support. I don't remember what the maximum length it can show. But it shows a good portion of the file name. I think it plays WMA/MP3 on CD only. I have not tried a WMA/MP3 DVD-R. It also will show JPG picture files from a CD and allow you to play an MP3 for background music of a slideshow.

    Note: The player also plays DVD+R and DVD-RW even though it is not listed on the box.

    Here is the manual to it. On page 8, it has some pictures that show what the menu looks like.
