  1. using dixvtodvd (free version) i convert avi's and they are fine for burning, but i did an mpeg and all it makes is 2 vob files no IFO or any of those other files needed to correctly burn. any fix on this?? or maybe a program that might create the files needs to properly burn vobs???

  2. You can use IFOEdit to create the IFO and BUP files it needs so long as the VOBs are good.

Download IFOEdit, run the program, find the Create IFOs button at the bottom and click it, choose the first VOB in the title-set in the dialog box, and then check the Same as Source box for destination. It'll take a few minutes to read the VOB files and create the IFO files. Save the BUP files when it asks as well.

That's a quick way of doing it and more experienced users may have more options, but that should get it working. Test it in a software DVD player before burning just to make sure!

If you aren't getting the rest of the files then it has stopped prematurely. There is a good chance you don't have all of the movie encoded either.

i believe your right but i thinki'm sure i see credits, i did another mpeg and it DID produce those needed files so i think your right about something missing from it. but if i only wanted half thats not possible? how does it know something is missing and that it not just the end?

It's more likely that the divx has some corruption in it that DivxtoDVD is choking on. Use virtualdub or divfix to check for bad frames.
