Converted wmv files problem

I use to convert my wmv files to xvid to be able to see them on my dvd divx player. However when I play them on the dvd I can't see the full picture. It is like the picture dosen't fit into the TV screen, but still it works like the original on the computer. This happens only to the converted files, any ideas how to correct this?

How do I add black borders?

I use River Past video cleaner to convert the files, using XVID MPEG-4 as codec .

I dunno how you do it in the software you're using, but an All-Forums search on "black borders" might turn something up
