  1. I have an AVI file that is missing the first part of the video. Is there any way to still play it or cut out that one part?

    Can you open the AVI in virtualdub ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Have you checked it with AVIcodec or Gspot? VD should have been able to open it or give you a reason not if it's a valid AVI.
