    I have an AVI file that is missing the first part of the video. Is there any way to still play it or cut out that one part?

    Can you open the AVI in virtualdub ?

    Kazaa Lite Resurrection has a player inside it.
    worked for me on a lot of these.

    Have you checked it with AVIcodec or Gspot? VD should have been able to open it or give you a reason not if it's a valid AVI.
