  1. Im using one of sefys Templates (SEVCD Basic) from the tools section on this site.... the movie length is just under 95 minutes and with the aforementioned template and a slight adjustment to the audio settings (160kb from 224kb) it fits on an 80 Min CDR... I'm burning in NERO 5.5.5.6 as a Video CD and de-selecting the standard vcd option (As per sefys instructions) when I offer my completed VCD to my (And we've tried a few others) DVD player the movie length shows up as 84 mins... I've watched the whole film from the newly burnt VCD and all is there.... anyone got any ideas on how to get around this problem ??

p.s - Great Template Sefy..... Cheers

  2. I think the DVD is just not reading the time scale correctly because of the VBR usage, but as long as it's playing it, does it matter ?

Glad to hear you like it, thanks for the compliment!

  3. The problem is your burned it in nero. Nero doesn't know what to do with non-standard x(S)VCDs. So it uses the standard video=150kbit/s audio=224kbit/s OR 1min=10MB. However, the VBR encoding also confuses Nero (this is why some people can't ff/rew or use goto w/ Nero burnt discs).

You can fix this by useing VCDImager to make a bin/cue of your MPEG and then burning the image file. VCDImager is a dos/command line program so I'd recommend using either VCDEasy or TSCV as a gui.

For VCDEasy make sure you turn on PBC (for chapters/entry points). You can d/load the newest ver at http://www.doom9.org

For TSCV you can d/load the newest verison at http://www.ttool.org and there's an excellent guide at:

  4. Vejita-sama, I dont agree 100% with what you said, i've used Nero plenty of times to create my SxVCD and SeVCD, and it has not failed me yet, it also identified the correct length of the movie.
