Hi there.
Well i have got this firewire and tested it with 1 hour video from my sony
TRV280 and unfortunatly i had 125 frame drops that`s way too much but
the resulting dvd worked just fine.
I was searching for some drivers for this ALI chipset, and couldn`t find anything better than the Microsoft driver, i know i got enough power cuz
when i tried this capture with my leadtek winfast 2000 expert everything goes well an no drop frame occurs, take in account that i have captured as dv avi and had no problem with the winfast card.
Now does anybody knows about a better driver for this firewire chipset?
and please.
Can anybody tell me if the sony drv280 has the passtru feature?
I`m uploding a picture from my avi video so you can tell me how to improve the quality of it. (edited/oops its too big in size) well anyway.
Any help will be apreciate thanx a lot guy.![]()

Try transferring with WinDV - it's really good, stable and free.
Also, there's a "Sticky" in the "DV" forum called "Read Me First" - it's got a link to reasons why frames are dropped.
As for your camera having pass-through or not, try looking over at www.camcorderinfo.comThere is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
