  1. Hi. I was wondering if someone could recommend a good program that I could use to create menus? I am copying some home video to put on a DVD and would like to add a menu. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

dvd lab pro is the only one i would recomend.

i find ulead dvd software very "templatish"

at first it might look difficult but once you get the hang of it, you wont stop using it.

I use DVD Lab Pro and enjoy the freedom it has.
DVD Architect 3 is also pretty powerful, but you need to purchase Vegas 6 to get it
DVD Workshop 2 gets a good rap from the users here
Tmpgenc DVD Author is a great beginners package.

How complex do you wan't your menu to be ?
How much are you prepared to invest of yourself to create it ?

  4. Start with the free trial of DVD-lab. If you're still using it after 30 days then you'll agree that it's well worth the $99.

When you need more power you can upgrade to DVD-lab Studio or DVD-lab Pro.

Give TMPGEnc DVDAuthor a try, I really like it. I basically taught myself to use it by just reading stuff here. I have even begun inputing my own background images and whatnot, instead of just using the templates it comes with (very limited number of those, and personally I don't like them much). It's not hard, just give different ones a try and see what you like. I'm very happy with TDA so far, well worth what I paid for it.

  6. Hi. I have been trying to use DVD-Lab Pro to create menus for some home video that I am transferring to a DVD, but I am running into a problem. After I compile my project and the program creates a VIDEO_TS folder it does not include a .IFO file and I cannot burn the DVD.

Can anyone suggest anything that might help.
