I'm trying to use ffmpeg to convert a bunch of small avi files to mpeg-2, so that I can then burn them to DVD in DVDSP. I can't seem to find a setting that works for this though. If I just set it to convert to DVD ffmpeg or DVD mpeg2enc and disable the "Author as DVD" setting in post processing it only creates one file, which DVDSP can't import: "incompatible file format."
When I open the .mpv or .mpg file created by FFmpeg in Quicktime and get movie properties, the video track is listed as an mpeg-2. The format for the container file is listed as "N/A"
It seems that no matter which option I choose, I have to reprocess the file in Compressor or demux it in MPEG streamclip.
What are the proper setting for converting an AVI file for use in DVDSP?

To use in DVDSP the framerate should be PAL or NTSC FILM with 3:2 pulldown. For the latter you need to use "DVD mpeg2enc", or use the Pulldown tool to add pulldown signals to a ffmpeg-encoded video stream. I don't know if pure NTSC is also supported, if yes you may directly use "DVD ffmpeg" for it. Then the .m2v file should be imported in DVDSP (if it is named .mpv you can rename it to .m2v, if it is named .mpg then it is not the right file to import as it also includes audio which must be imported as a separate file).
