A lot of times I burn AVI files on a DVD that are not compatible with DVD players, and I'm not talking about those HD Divx avi's because the DVD player recognizes them and SPECIFICALLY says it can't play HD DIVX but those that he just reports as data error.
How do I know if an AVI file will play on a DVD player before I burn it on DVD?
IS THERE SOME PROGRAM WHICH CAN VERIFY THIS?
My current DVD player is SONY DVP-SR100

Here's some general things to watch out for that may or may not cause problems: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic357003.html
If you know what you're looking for - or what your player doesn't like - you can use GSpot or MediaInfo to take a look at the .AVI/.divx video information, and see if any of those details are present. If so, you can recompress the video using AutoGK (with MTK/ESS support enabled), AVIRecomp, etc., so that your player will accept it.If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
