It's rather odd, but using CCE SP I can very easily encode the HDTV.AVI files that I have, however when I try to convert a file over a certain size, the encoder just crashes at an abitrary point.
I would normally use TMPGEnc instead but for some reason, when I encode NTSC XviD AVI into a PAL DVD, the resulting disc playback is jumpy (locks up, speeds up, stops, etc).... this doesn't happen with CCE.
I have to know why CCE SP locks up when encoding files over a certain size... could it be that the movie files are not as high quality as the TV episodes?
I have made sure to keep the min, max and avg bit rates sufficently apart (at least 1000Kbps).
