  1. hey there, very noob at this, only started, like, 3 days ago when got a burner.

Anyway, I converted 3 files with VSO Divx to DVD (had to burn 'em to CD to get them to another comp) - creates a new folder with all the files, yadda yadda yadda. So I burn another 3 files with VSO Divx to DVD, creates a new folder with all files, yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, when I burn them all onto one DVD-R with Nero, I try to add both sets of files - however, it will only take one set of VIDEO_TS.BUP and VIDEO_TS.ISO files from the first batch of 3 files I burned. Not the "newer" VIDEO_TS.BUP and VIDEO_TS.ISO. So I loaded in the other 3 files (minus the second batch of ISO and BUP files) and when I throw it in my DVD player it can only find the first 3 files I burned. However, if I flick around the DVD in win explore, the other 3 "newer" files are in there. It just can't play or select them.

So, since I would rather burn 6 files to DVD instead of 3 files, how do I tell the DVD that there are more files in there? Could I just rename the 2nd batch of BUP and ISO files. (I did try that, but Nero told me it wasn't a valid format).

If this problem made sense to you, I congradulate you.

You can only have one set of VIDEO_TS buup, IFO and VOB files (obviously). This means that you gotta either process both files at once in DivxtoDVD (you should be able to select multiple input files by holding Ctrl down and then clicking on the files) or you'll need to reauthor both your VIDEO_TS folders in something like TMPGEnc DVD Author.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. yah, alright, thanks. I guess the problem lied in me trying to rip the avi files (which could only hold 3) directly from the CD to DvixtoDVD. So now, I have to copy the whole whack of them to the HD and batch convert 'em like that.

Nothing too bad, just kind of a pain. Conversion takes a longo time on that comp.

is there freeware/ trailware of TMP and/or DVD Author?

TMPGEnc DVD Author is free and fully functional for 30 days.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. cheers, thank you. I guess the only negative to this story is now I have a DVD-R with 2 files burned on there that will never, ever see the light of day.

    RIP my 2 files.

    Why ?

copy the VOBs into separate folders on your hard drive, then for each VOB follow the instructions here. This will create a new set of VIDEO_TS files for each VOB set. Then use TMPGEnc DVD Author and you'll be able to import the first 3 titles as well as the next 2, and create a menu so that you can get to any one of them individually if you like.

You may even be able to just add the VOBs in TDA without re-creating the IFO files.
    If in doubt, Google it.
