I have about 10 minutes of an avi file that I captured with my camcorder. I want to cut out a small section so I can e-mail it to someone. What would be the easiest way to do this. Any help would sure be appreciated.

Virtualdub or one of it's variants. I use Virtualdub mpeg2. All are free excellent tools

I would recommend VD also, but most video editors will work. If it's DV format, you will need a DV codec for VirtualDub. I use the Panasonic DV codec. VD also works best with Type 2 DV, but if that's a problem, there is a converter for Type 1 to Type 2 in the 'Tools' section to the left.

Thank yall for your help. I will try both programs and see what happens. Thanks again.
