    hey, im thinking about getting an xbox soon, but i was wondering something.

    once i get the remote and reciever for the xbox, what can it play? just normal store-bought dvds? can it play DVD-/+R's or DVD-/+RW's?

    My XBOX plays Ritek and Princo DVD-Rs.

    If you buy a new one should play every thing. The old Xbox had crap drives in them. This also goes for PS2 the first ones are not as good as the new ones.

    There are a few different types od DVD drives that some in the XBOX, so it is hard to say. My XBOX sucks for playing DVD's. Even some comercial DVDs don't play in it. It won't play most DVD+Rs, but most of the +RWs I have tried have worked. I don't know anyone else that has as much trouble as I do, so you should be okay.
