  1. I'm using Nero 6.6 and I have never updated it because it seems to work fine. If I was to install the updates, do you recommend that I uninstall the old version first?

I'm curious because when I updated Adobe Reader 6.02 to version 7.0 by simply running the version 7.0 .exe file, it installed without uninstalling the previous version i.e. it deleted the old shortcuts and the 6.02 uninstaller from Windows "Add/Remove Programs" utility but heaps of 6.02 was left behind in Program Folders and registries.

I like to keep my Win XP clean, your suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Just download from the update page and install, that's all I do - http://www.nero.com/us/nero-up.php
Make sure you downloaded the entire file by using their MD5 Verifier - http://www.nero.com/us/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html

Adobe has always been like that. For most programs you just download and install the update(s) as HatchetMan suggested.

  4. The update will ask you if you want to uninstall first then you say "yes"
