My MT2S from camcorder and blu rips would play great on WIndows Media Player 11 with Core AVC or FFDShow with Haali media splitter installed.

Everything was working fine for weeks until I installed Nero 8 (being told Nero Recode does a better job encoding). Now my M2TS (VC1 and H264) videos play really slow (about 15 FPS) and audio is out of sync and stutters.

I have tried uninstalling Nero 8 but doesn't help.
I have even uninstalled Core AVC and FFDShow and videos still playback but slow. So obviously there's still a decoder handling the 264 and VC1.

How can I completely uninstall Nero or disable it from decoding videos?

Have you tired using VLC media player to play back the M2TS files?

Also Media Player Classic Home Cinema is another good one to try as I think it can use external or internal filters (VLC media player also uses internal filters).

So either should work even if your system is "broken" somehow.

Yeah that does work with Media Player Classic but I still would like to know how to disable whatever Nero did to my system.

VLC plays things worst on my system. Even newest one.

    Thank you for responding

Sad to report it did not work using the clean tool.

Also media player classic plays m2ts files slow also.

I know my computer is fast enough because just a week ago it was able to play all m2ts files from my blu rays? VC1, H264 and MPEG2 encodes.

Anyone else got suggestions besides reformating my computer?

  7. When you play them now, what splitter /decoder are you using ? (i.e. is haali and ffdshow/coreavc being used now)?

Use graphstudio if you don't know, and render the .m2ts

If it still is using the Nero splitter or decoder, either lower the merit or unregister it with graphstudio or radlight filter manager

    Thank you poisondeathray

Yes I'm using Haali and FFDshow or I disable h264 and VC1 in FFDShow to use Core AVC instead.

What's worst is that now when I want to shrink a 15-20GIG m2ts file to 8Gigs, it takes 16 hours just to do the first pass when it use to take 4 to 6 hours for first pass.

Interesting thing I notice when using graphstudio is that when I think I should be using Core AVC it lists WMVideo Decoder DMO as video.

I don't know how to lower merit or unregister a decoder.
