Hi fellow swede. Since this is your first post, maybe some rules of conduct are to be learned:
    • Don't post under the Latest News section, unless it really is news.
I think the "patch" you are referring to, is something that the AUP might exclude from what we discuss here.
What it seems to do is nothing that can't be done with free tools (DVDDecrypter and/or DVDShrink)

You'll find that hardly anyone from this site ever uses dvdxcopy anymore.

    Use alternatives as suggested.

Unfortunately, there will be no more updates for DVD Decrypter, however, you can download version 3.5.4.0

    Also, give dvdfab a try:

Seems like DVDXCopy (of 321 Studio fame) isn't the same as DVD XCopy - or maybe it is? (At least, there seems to be lots & lots of on line resellers...)

"one of which is being sued by macrovision...."
I dont think that this software, producer or company,
"DVD XCopy Deluxe" has bin sued
but "Sima and Interburn’s DVD Copying Products"
(DVD xcopy platinum ? ) has perhaps bin sued.
Have you tried "DVD XCopy Deluxe"
    from MP3TOWAV.ORG ?
If you have I like to know

I thought it was by 321 studios which did get sued.

So this one is developed by MP3TOWAV.ORG.

Its quite a costly software at $60

This is the info from their website:

    Software Features:
    1. Perfect 100% DVD Duplication. Just like your original DVD movies.
    2. Sound and video never change in quality.
    3. Copy all the Special Features, Menus, Subtitles & Languages, nothing to lose
    4. High speed and easy to use. Just a few clicks.
    5. Playable in almost all DVD players
    6. Copies DVD Movie to One Blank Disc (No Need to Split)
    7. Supports both NTSC and PAL DVD movies
    8. Uses most DVD-R / DVD-RW / DVD+R / DVD+RW burners.
It does exactly what the freeware (DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink) does, so I dont think its worth the price. Its a rip off.

Doesn't mention anything about ripping sony arccoss protection.

Unless you're copying to a dual layer disc, No 2 in the info is incorrect. There will be a change in video quality if you compress the dvd.

Took a look at www.mp3towav.org, which seems to be yet another reseller among others - but couldn't even find "DVD XCopy Deluxe" in their repertoire. Still, I see no reson to buy applications for tasks that can be at least as well done with free applications.

Well, I found the website from searching in google. This is one of those rip off softwares that con people out of their money.

As mentioned, freeware alternatives does all that this software can do, but better.

Sorry Tommy, but I can't resist: ...and that PC Magazine editors choice logo in their ad - I doubt it!

What made me interested in this product was “protecting personal movies” in following line from
    http://www.share2.com/burndvdmovies.htm and
    http://www.share2.com/dvdxcopydeluxe/index.htm
“DVDXCopy Deluxe is the best program on the market that allows you to make perfect quality backup copies and protect personal DVD movies!”
But I can’t get it to work well?
I like to know if someone tried it and got it to work?

That quote is from a reseller - they'll say anything to sell one more copy. (They'll even put on fake "PC Magazine Editor Choice" awards). There's no reason to trust marketing mumbo jumbo - on the contrary. But there are reasons to listen to individuals here ate VideoHelp when they come with recommendations.
In short: It can all be done for free with DVDDecrypter/DVDShrink (in the future you might need DVDFab decrypter).

If you cant get it to work, then its certainly not the best. Actually, a software at that price isn't even worth mentioning. I can understand $30-$40 for software like AnyDVD or DVD Region+CSS Free which does a whole lot more than DVD Xcopy, but $60 is a total rip off.

And im very sure that DVD XCopy cant copy dvds with sonys arcoss protection.
