Anyone here know anything about this little device?

Saw it on sale at Walmart last week and was wondering how it would work at converting some video tapes I have.

What is the video quality like? Will the result be as good as the input or not? or better?
How sensitive is it to glitches in the tapes?
Macrovision -- Does it ignore it?
What is the software like for recording?

Like to have more information before I spend a bit on one.
