    but replace the ogm/mkv with mp4 like
    "C:\Program Files\mplayer\mencoder.exe" "e:\temp\avisample2.mp4" -oac mp3lame -ovc xvid -xvidencopts pass=1 -o "e:\temp\videooutput.avi"

    worked fine with a nerodigial mp4 i made.

    If it the mp4 contains ASP MPEG4 and not AVC, then you can simply remux to avi, then just change the fourCC to XVID or DX50. You can also mux aac to avi with AVIMuxGUI. No need to re-encode anything.

    Quicktime doesn't support he-aac, also 6.5 only supports SP.
