  1. OK. I have a Simpsons episode I wanna burn as a VCD. I converted it from AVI to VCD in TMPGEnc. Then, I took that VCD and put it into Nero to make a VCD. I have a TDK VeloCD burner. I can burn @ 24x but I am burning this at 4x. The Nero version I use is: 5.5.1.9 TDK. Whenever I burn it, I get a buffer underrun error. This error happens when the buffer flushes and goes back down to 0% for a few min. It says "Buffer underrun error at 4x (600 KB/s)"

    Well here are my settings:

  3. I believe checking the box for burnproof will correct your issue.

  4. Umm...Where is this box?

  5. My only suggestion is to reduce your burn speed to 2x and be sure that no other programs are running. I get coasters when I try to surf the web or download stuff while I'm trying to burn! good luck

    @ Krazy

    Are you sure the file is ok? You can check this by putting the CD in your CD Player and using VCDGear to extract the dat file. You then use this program to convert it at the same time whilst extracting to an mpg format. This you should be able to view in yuor mediaplayer. If not. Your encoding in TMPGEnc was faulty. Did you test the file that
    TMPGEnc produced was ok?

    If that's not the problem - are you sure your standalone DVD player plays VCD's? Check the player compatibility list. Does it play all types of CD-R(W)? Check again here.

    If that is not the problem call again!

    As I won't be online later - here another thing you can do. Use VCDImagerGui (downloadable in the tools section of this website) a simple but efficient program. You'll be creating an image file. (You will in effect be creating 2 files - a cue and bin file). Once you have created these files open Nero and click --->file open----->burn image and choose the "cue" file you created with VCDImagerGUI. Then press burn and you're off.

    If this too doesn't work - then its either the media you are recording on, or (worst possible scenario) your standalone DVD Player does not play VCD's

  13. you said you used avi simpsons files?

    arnt you supposed to convert those babys to MPEG-1 or -2? before turning it to VCD?
    Quote Quote
  14. ok never mind

    but maybe you should jus convert the AVI files with the program AVI2VCD THEN throw her into Nero and see wat it does

    there are many diffrent paths to burn a vcd

    @timmy_boi

    In VCD mode (not SVCD mode) Nero will let you include AVI files. If these are then made compatible I have no idea, as I don't have an avi's to test it out.
