Hello....I have been copying alot of commercial DVDs and I have been having a few problems. About 1 in every 4 that I burn have jumpy bits through the movie. I will be watching them and it will suddenly go jumpy or freeze.
I have tried using Clone DVD+Any DVD, as well as DVD Shrink, however they both give the same results. I also followed the guides from this website on how to use these programs
I am using TDK DVD-R discs. These discs were given a very high rating in a PC magazine I was reading.
Does this problem have anything to do with firmware???
Anyone got any ideas???
Thanks in advance.

Could be (in order of likely suspects) :
1. Media quality. TDK, like most DVD companies, source their media from different manufacturers. The TDKs you bought may well ahve been duds. Generally, look for Made in Japan on the packaging. Download DVD Info Pro and get the media code. Use it to search the Media database here to see what others are saying about these disks. Try other brands as well.
2. Media compatability. Some players and/or some burners prefer some media over others. TY get a great write up here, yet my NEC 2500A doesn't like them. I still use Ritek disks with 100% success rate, yet many others no longer touch them. Like wine, take the expert's opinion as a starting point, but find something that works for you.
3. Format compatability. Not the issue it used to be, but can still crop up. Check your player in the players database here and see what features it has, and how other owners are faring with different types of disk.
4. Dirty laser in your player.
5. All of the above.
6. None of the above.Read my blog here.
