Hey guys, quick question.
I'm using TMPGEnc to edit my videos. I have a handful of .mpegs that I want to cut down to one min long. Our of these videos I have two that have problems. Before I cut them up, the sound is perfect. After I cut them up, the sound is gone and it just shows the video playing, with no sound. The other video plays the song for a few seconds and then it too cuts out and the song is lost.
This doesn't happen that often to the videos I've edited. Is this a problem with the .mpeg video itself or is there a setting I'm looking over in TMPGEnc?
Thanks for the help guys, I need it.

I use TMPGE DVD Author Pro to cut up the clips, in and out points, never had a problem with this happening, in fact Author Pro is way too sweet and surprised no one boost's this ap. I love it.

Alright, so I've gotten ahold of TMPGEnc DVD Author. However, it seems to be a program used to actually put the videos together and then burn them to an actual DVD-R/W.
All I'm interested in doing is editing a 3-4 minute movie down to a 1 minute section. When I attempt to open up the file in TMPGEnc DVD Author it gives me the following error:
"A video sequence header is necessary for every GOP in a standard DVD."
I'm so lost. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help, I have no experiance in this field, as you can probably tell. -
you have a capture card?
a dvd player capable of playing mpg's?
if so..
record them back to your computer through the capture device as dvd mpg 2 and pop pop.. snap snap... one long video with no problems. -

Man, this has gotten complicated =]. What I've been doing, since I'm unable to burn a DVD on my computer, is that I chop the video down to 1 minute and then burn them onto a CD-RW. I then take them to a friends house who has a DVD burner.
The weird thing is, TMPGEnc edits 2/3 of the .mpgs just fine. The other 1/3, it's a minute long but with no sound. So during the editing process, I lose sound.
Is there another program that can easily edit a video? -
I've been using Videoredo to edit / merge/ cut into pieces and do not have problems. It has a trial version you can try out. the feature you want is either under the tools menu as ":trim and copy source file" whic\h lets you set by Megabytes or by opening the MPG video and then making cuts and saves by using the timeline which shows minutes & seconds. BTW you need to get the trial key or it will only output 30 minutes of video.
Good luck -
oh try just taking out the HD and plug it in to your friends pc and wah lah. No more cutting.
