For my wedding my friend and uncle filmed using 2 different camcorders - both were HD.
Starting to edit in premiere pro but I have have to use proxy editing and I converted both to mpeg2 to make it easier to edit (I will swap back in the original footage later).
Problem is, my uncles footage from his Sanyo Xacti is 15 FPS! So when I had converted it to 25 FPS mpeg it looks like it is in slow motion on the timeline in premiere. I guess this is because it has stretched the footage out somewhat.
So what are my options here - how can I edit these together? Can you edit normal PAL with 15 FPS? If I use his original 15 fps footage on the timeline - what will happen when I export the entire timeline - will the parts with his video still look like slow motion?
Thanks for any advice here..

I would externally convert the 15 fps video to 25fps before import to Premiere timeline.
There are several strategies, most common
- Frame Interpolate (Premiere could do this but not at top quality) It will look blurry.
- Frame Repeat (add 10 frame repeats per second 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2). It will look juddered.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

Thanks for the info - any dea what software would be able to accomplish this the best. Should I convert the HD .MP4 footage to 25 FPS?
I did a test in premiere, since the footage which was converted the 15 FPS is running slow, I increased the speed to 150% - but I take it conversion is the preferable method?
Any instructions on how to do this would be great.. -
The 150% speedup would be a frame interpolation in Premiere.
To do better AviSynth filters would probably be best but I haven't done this so can't tell you which interpolation filter would be best. Avisynth can also do the 1:2 frame repeats.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

So I can convert the footage with AVISynth? I will look for a tutorial on how to do this but if you know of any please let me know.
Thanks
Edit: Opened the MP4 footage in GSPOT - says the footage is 59.941 frames per second? Although when I import it into premiere it says 14.99? Any ideas why? - is the footage from the Sanyo actually 59.941 FPS? Is this 60p? The footage from my main camera is 1080i - what should I do?

Also - searching on the web I created an avs script as follows:
DirectShowSource("F:\Video Editing\Wedding\SANY0649.MP4")
ConvertFPS(50)
I ran the script and it opened in windows media player but how can I convert the MP4 to another MP4? (Or better yet an MTS file so it matches the other footage?)
Thanks for your patience, since this is my wedding footage it is important!
