I am quite new to all this DVD authoring and am stuck on something that has been annoying me for ages. I purchased a DVD a while ago and the audio is about 0.5 - 1 second infront of the video. This is a big problem as the DVD is a collection of music videos. I want to know is there a way of making the audio in line with the video, and then burn it back onto a DVD, without losing the quality? i have already ripped the DVD to my powerbook and don't know where or what to do from here.

These are the programs i own-

    -quicktime 7 pro
    -toast 6 titanium
    -ffmpegx
    -dvd2oneX
    -moviegate
    -dvd studio pro 3
    -mac the ripper

    many thanks!

after demuxing the the DVD with ffmpegx, take the elementary streams
into DVDSP3, and place them on
    a video and audio track.
Line them up, create a short menu,
format, then burn the formatted dvd in Toast.

Thanks for the help! Just a few questions...

How long do you think it will take DVD Studio Pro 3 to format the DVD as i've tried to format a 1.4gb dvd on there before and it took a stupidly long time. Also will the DVD have it's original menu?

And finally what and how do the "demuxing" in ffmpegx?

    Thanks!

    man, you ARE a newbie....

DVDSP3 will not take as long if you are using the original demuxed assets. IF you are using newley created assets
( QT Movie files) or are using Downloaded assetts
(.avis) then DVDSP3 must do the encoding for the assets
( turning them into MPEG-2) in the background, or upon
build, which ever you have specified in your preferences.

The DVD in DVDSP3 will have the menu THAT YOU BUILD
in DVDSP3. It cannot re-import original IFO files and
display IFO structures. But if you aren't confident in
menu creation, you can use one of the pre-canned
    templates DVDSP3 comes with.

Demuxing a file in ffmpegx is simple.
    http://homepage.mac.com/major4/tools.html

In the Tools tab, you select the demux option, and input your vob file by clicking one of the browse buttons at top,
and navigating back to the RIPPED folder on your HD.
it then will split the files back into seperate
video(.m2v) and audio (.ac3) files. These can be imported
    into DVDSP3.

any other questions, feel free to post them!
