    Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before- but a quick search yielded nothing exact-so i'll just ask again.
    I made a copy of a movie with dts sound and standard 5.1. I chose to only keep the dts audio track on the copy, because my home theatre system can decode dts. I lent the copy to a friend of mine and now he cannot get sound on his pc. Is there a simple solution to just get some piece of software that will decode the dts signal, or is it slightly more complicated than that?

    The easiest way is to install a software DVD player such as PowerDVD or WinDVD. They will install any required codecs, and happily play DTS.

    If your frind doesn't have PowerDVD or WinDVD, you can try Media Player Classic which is available as a freeware. It has its own AC3 and DTS codecs.

    I only discovered it recently. In MPC, click on view, then options and under filters, click the Audio Decoders tab, which gives the following options:
