I'm new to this so forgive any Ignorance.
I finally have my hardware working. p866, WinME, AdsTech 1394, and JVC GR-DVF11 camcorder.
I have tried capturing with MediaStudio 6, and 4, creating a 720x448 29.9fps DV NTSC AVI file. I get the same results with both. When I play back the file with Win Media Player the sound is choppy and the video is OK, Frame rate seems to lag. And when I transfer the AVI file back to the camcorder via the Firewire and play in back on the camcorder there is considerable loss. I thought this transfer was supposed to be lossless.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Thx in advance...

I use Videowave 4, sceanalizer (pardon my spelling) or XP Movie Maker. They all have no loss. Also, make sure that your codecs are all up to date, and make sure that your firewire cable isnt frayed or anything. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem w/ Pinnacle studio DV until I checked my data read/write capabilities of my hard drive. They say to put a check mark next to DMA on your hard drive properties, however mine would not transfer correctly with the DMA selected. Once I de-selected DMA it worked flawlessly.
