  1. hi,
made some divX with the ffmpeg-divX preset.
Playing it back with Quicktime-Player 7 the audio
gets out of synch after a few minutes.
Are there any settings to keep the file in synch ?

  2. Normally this is due to a change in framerate. Make sure you're using the same framerate as the source movie. Also try with "mencoder DivX".

  3. Framerate is the same as in source file.
    The source-file is a mpeg2 made with eyetv1.8.
With the mencoder-preset i had no sound in the resulting divX.

When the sound gets out of synch in Quicktime-Player I pause the playback for a few seconds.
After restarting it it starts in synch, but gets out of synch again after a few minutes.

  4. How many seconds it is offsync at the end, and which is the exact duration of the movie?

  5. Perhaps running your original mpeg through MPEG Streamclip may help. Two options which may help: fix data breaks in the prefs and fix time codes in the Edit menu. Full documentation is available in the help menu.

    Cheers,
    Alph

There are issues with DivX and Quicktime 7, although QT 7.0.1 has reported fixed problems for some:

What I'm saying is, before you decide your .avi is bad, try playing it with mplayer or something else first.
