Searched the cap cards lists but no one seemed to be talking much about tuner strength. I have a notebook setup in my van and an outside antenna I would like to use with a USB 2.0 Tuner/cap unit.
Tried the $100 ATI USB 2.0 job and found it to have very weak reception. I am not at all interested in cap quality or features I just need a good strong tuner.
I live in the inner city so reception is great overall in my area.
Thanks for any help!

I would try the Hauppage USB2. I get a great picture from it using cable. I don't know about tuning from a portable antenna.

The Hauppauge WinTV Nova-S USB is great. The picture quality is excellent.

Tried the $100 USB 2.0 Win TV , although the tuner was much stronger I’m not happy with the picture or the connections (forced to use wintv usb cable, & must have separate audio cable connected to hear sound for tuner).
Still looking thanks for the help. I may end up using the ATI USB 2.0 with a VCR as a tuner or even better an HDTV tuner…I hear the voom receivers are going for around $50 or so everywhere.
