I'm getting tired of wondering (inside my head) with what went wrong to my USB-2 speed.
For some unknown reason, my front ports went 1.1 on me and the only way I can get the 2.0 speed is to connect from the back of the unit. The mobo comes with 4 ports .. 2 in the front and 2 in the back.
I would like to request the aid of any USB/MOBO gurus to help me figure out what caused this and how to restore it back to health, but without having to reinstall windows xp again.
My rig:
** April 21, 2007 Sat -- new purchase
** MOBO: ECS GeforceE6100SM-M w/ 1gig DDR RAM
** CPU: AMD 64 X2 3600+
Thank you,

have you checked the bios to make sure "enhanced" usb is enabled? the next step would be to reload the nvidia motherboard drivers. maybe then try looking in the hardware device manager and see if there are a couple "enhanced" host controllers listed. is this vista or xp? there are some updates for nvidia usb chips, but mostly vista with 2gb or more ram seems to be the normal problem.
