  1. Hey all,
Can anyone advise of the proper set up on the Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR- ES10?
I have a Panasonic TV and a satellite receiver.

My problem is when I set to timer recording and shut off the DVD Recorder, the TV is shut out as well.
When the recorder kicks in, then TV channel to record the program from is back on.

I'd like to have a set up where I can set timer recording and still watch any shows before the DVD Recorder kicks back on and the recording starts.
Also, I'd like to be able to watch a different channel than the one that's being recorded when the recorder kicks on.

Thanks for all the help in this set up!

If I understand your question correctly, you need to do two different things to get what you want. First, change the remote control code to "2" or "3" as explained in your instruction manual on page 14. So it won't interfere with your TV remote code. Second, you need to either split the output of your satellite receiver, one directly connected to your TV and the other to recorder, or use both RF in and out connection on the recorder from the satellite box. This should allow you to watch one channel on TV while recording another.

  3. do you have a diagram or a step-by-step to share with the exact connections i.e. from sat receiver to recorder-from tv to receiver, etc?

Again, everything is explained in the instructions manual from page 7 to 9.
