It's probably happened to everyone. If you reboot and the disk still refuses to come out, you'll need to intervene manually.

First, turn your system completely off. On the front of most CD and DVD burners is a tiny hole just below the CD/DVD tray. Using either a paperclip or safety pin, poke it into the hole about an inch or two. It will trigger a manual release of the tray lock and allow you to manually slide the tray out and retrieve the disk. Then, push the tray in as far as you can (it might not go in all the way) and reboot. Try to put the disk in again. It should work.

It doesn't happen all that often to me or most other people. But, if it continues to happen on a consistent basis, you might want to contact a hardware guru to see if there might be some related problem.

A pin??? A pin might not be long enough. Really, it can take as much as 2 inches of poking, depending on the drive setup. It might be the burner as you say ... but I'd sure hate to buy a new one until I was absolutely sure it wasn't just the common "stuck disk" problem.
