i recently download a tv series that was rip from vcd to rm. it unfortunate had dual audio along with it. so when i watch it on the computer i have to change my balancer to one speaker to hear only one language, (like typical vcd rips)
now heres the problem, when i converted my RM to dvd (vobs) using WINAVI and DVDSTYLER to author. i am missing the option to convert the language, like switching from stereo (both speakers) to only using one side of the speaker like i do when i watch vcds. im just curious if i can fix this somehow?
ie: a dvd authoring program to add that option. im new to making dvd so any suggestions would help.

    thanks in advance

ps. i have tried converting the RM back to Svcd and burnt them on a dvd disc.
it worked, the option to convert the language is there but i was not satified with the quality, the video was bad and the audio was off, and sounded slightly high pitched. and took FOREVER to demultipexxx

  3. someone posted this at asianfanatics.net:

I found a time saving way to convert dual audio to cantonese-only audio effortlessly. It's a trick I found in Tmpgenc Dvd author.

Basically, when you are using tmpgenc dvd author to convert your mpegs to dvd, instead of setting the audio option to bilingual, set it to monolingual. If you do this, Tmpgenc should only keep the left channel which usually is the cantonese track. The right audio track (usually mandarin) will be discarded.

I used this trick a few times and it saved me a lot of time. Previously I had to demultiplex the audio stream out and used an audio editor to delete the mandarin track which was very time consuming.
