LiteOn 5004, 5505 or 5006 ????

Hi I am inthe UK and have just purchased a LiteOn DVD Recorder.
£149.95 from Argos - If its no good its going back under 16 day refund deal.
It was advertised as a 5005, has 5004 on Front label and 5006 on rear info label. So what have I got and does it make any difference?

So far have had good results burning Home VHS Video via Scart Connection to Ritek DVD-R on SP.
I have found that the disks will take 2 hrs 04 mins of video at this resolution, and quality is pretty good, but there seems to be one problem.
The initial part of the recording seems perfect, but as I record up to the 2 Hrs I get a jitter that gets worse until results are quite poor.
I wondered if there is a fix for this, either from LiteOn (via their 'wonderful' website) or do other users have a better idea how to get round the problem.

If you have that problem copying VCR tapes, that's a well-known issue. One fix is to use/buy a TBC "black box" and connect it between the VCR and the 5005, which will stabilize the video to be copied. *There are conflicting reports of a firmware update solving that problem (it didn't for me). *-tac7

Hi thanx 4 the reply, I dont know where to get one of these magic boxes and would like to try the firmware upgrade. How do I get it and use it, I tried the LiteOn site but the download area didnt seem to work. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, MH

Perhaps someone from Europe can provide you with the proper link to your particular model (in case the above link doesn't help you). For a video stabilizer, to take the jitter out, you could do a Google search for TBC and then add DataVideo, Sima, or AVT..., which are some of the companies making those units. *-tac7
