I don't know if this has been asked before.

I use DVDShrink to extract scenes from adult videos. I would like to re-author these scenes onto new discs.

It is my understanding that Shrink needs an authored DVD to work from, therefore you cannot simply import the extracted VOB's from seperate discs and create a new disc (I don't need menus). Is this correct?

I've tried re-authoring using Encore 1.5, DVD Workshop 2, DVD Movie Factory 3, but they cannot accept VOB's. I tried transcoding the VOB's into mpegs, de-multiplexed and re-multiplexed, but these programs still gagged on the files (I don't know why).

Only re-encoding seems to work, and that takes forever and a day.

Is there a way to get Shrink to work with just VOB's, or some better (faster) method I'm forgetting?

So Extract each wanted scene with Shrink, keeping seperate folders for each disc (essentially re-author each disc into it's own folder).

Then re-import each folder to author a new disc? Am I understanding this correctly?

I didn't know Shrink could import more than one disc per session.

I'll have to do a test to see if I got this. Thanks B.

Hmm... Not having a lot of luck.

The problem is, I deleted my IFO's a while back. Now I just have the VOB's (I loaned the originals to a friend who has yet to return them).

I can't load the files into Shrink w/o the IFO's.
I have tried the three authoring programs I mentioned above, but they all choke while either importing the VOB's, or, in Encores case, when trying to scroll through the clips.

I have tried muxing/de-muxing (using rejig and Mpeg video wizard) and re-encoding to mpeg2, with no luck.

The only authoring program that seems to accept the files in DVDLab (1.3), but I'd like to try to figure out why the other programs don't like the files.

Any suggestions on where/how to figure it out?
