    what is the best aspect ratio i can choose for a conversion to DVD? the XVId is 512x288. i dont want any frames to be cropped. this guy gave me a tool once but i lost it. so if hes reading this please send it again. thanks.

    Best encode would be 352x360 with borders added to fill out to 352x480,that is if the video is ntsc.

    For PAL use 448x403 letterboxed inside 480x576 or if your DVD player won't play DVD-SVCD format then use 328x404 inside 352x576.

    try DivxtoDVD. It will resize it to full frame, so it may be a bit soft, but it will only take an hour to find out

    25 FPS. also does anyone know of a calculator for AVI To DVD aspect ratio? thanks.

    Please forgive me if this is a bit OT, but is there a calculator that helps one figure out resize dimensions, especially within black borders/letterboxing ?
