This is my first time using the import function in Premiere Pro so please bare with me. I'm tring to import a (XviD) movie so I can edit it in PP. It will play fine in the Source Monitor, but when I drag it to the timeline the video is corrupted when viewing in the Program Monitor. The (uncompressed) audio plays fine. When I uncompress the video it to plays fine in the Program Monitor. So I thought maybe it has to be uncompressed but when I imported Bum Fights it worked fine, but its a mpg not compressed. I really dazzed and comfused now. If someone could tell me the rulz about these Avi's compressed vs noncompressed or should I say different codec's, mpg's vs the rest I would be greatly appreesh'ed.
Any help!!!!!!!
Any suggestions??????
Thx,
Brad

whoever made the clip did not want you to be able to edit it real easy, but you can, but you will have to render a lot to see what it really looks like, but I made a x-vid video tutorial and it did the same thing when I tried to open in Premiere, black monitor, I just used a different fomat.
