I tried with TMPG encoder and the file estimate around 3gb. So can anyone help me? (I want at least 500mb, enough to watch).

vcd is pretty standard.. 10mb a minute.. so unless the avi was around 5 hours long, you did soemthing wrong.

ur Avi file is 3gb? and ur trying to convert to mpeg1? so what happened when u tried doing so with tmpgenc. where did the process go wrong exactly...clarify please. did tmpgenc not allow u to complete or u meant the result was a 3gb mpeg file, coz that cant be as lumas already said.

Could be the AVI has VBR audio? This throws TMPGEnc off completely. Solution? Extract audio to wav first, select wav as audio source, AVI as video source when encoding. But still, 80 min is what you can fit on a regular CD as VCD.
