I was tring to transfer some video from a VCR (in the MPEG 1 VCD format)to my Win98 computer using my ATI AIW card with TV 7.6

I had no problem with the video.

But the audio starts out with some static and then turns to all hiss/static anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds after I play back the capture (no matter what player I use)

    What can cause this?

    What is the cure?

I have inclosed (in MPEG-1 format) a 10 second sample

    Wiring.

    Which ATI AIW card?
It may be time you upgrade MMC.

    AIW 128 Pro

    I did, I am using MMC 7.6!

I did try to go higher, but, anything above 7.6 seems not to be very well liked by my computer.

    333 MhZ Celeron
    320 MB memory
    Windows 98

But still, working for 10 seconds then static?

BTW if I use a Microphone/ Mike-in instead of a RCA plug cable from the line out of the VCR to the Line In of the sound card.I get no static!

I found the answer by going back to MMC 7.1

So, I now can capture again

    Thanks for the help
