I have just bought an LG DR4912 DVD recorder, it works well apart from a problem with lip-sync - when I play a DVD -R or -RW that I have recorded from VHS on the LG it's ok, but when I play it on my Pioneer DV99 home cinema player the sound is ahead of the video so the lip-sync looks silly. Does anyone know why this happens and what I can do about it, or should I just take back the recorder?

Try a different brand of media. It may be the Pioneer is having difficulty with the media you used.
