  1. wheni convert all is fine except i notice the picture is very blocky like a kvcd, is this my avi file or the limitations of this encoding through VSO???

    I've used the program many times with excellent results. I would say it's your original file. The program will re-size any input to 720x480,if your file uses a small frame size and is very long in time you may well see blockiness. I've converted a few VCD's,352x240 and they came out quite well.

  3. 352x240 is what it is ..and it is rather long, any avi ever get coded better or is that a standard?

    352x240 is the standard resolution for VCD. Using it for avi is O.K. but the time if long is going to reduce the bitrate too low for conversion to 720x480.
    You might try TMPEG and set the size to 352x240 and use the DVD template.
    You should get better results. The audio,if mp3 or ac3 is not going to convert with TMPEG. Extract the audio with VirtualDub into a wav file. TMPEG can convert from a wav file.
