  1. i was just wondering if it's possible to stick some video files onto a dvd-r that last longer than an hour. I have some 4.7gb dvd disks and it seems strange that i can only fit one hour of content on there before needing another disk.

thanks for any advice with this

What resolution and bitrate are you using? I make DVD's all the time that are 2 hours or longer. What form of audio are you using? I use 2-channel AC3 on all mine. You can get even more on a DVD if you use lesser-quality, like 352x480 or 352x240 (commonly called VCD) resolutions.

To fit more than an hour use the bitrate calculator and set to vbr and you can get that desired results.

You may have to process the files and then use DVD Shrink to allow them to fit on a 4.7G DVD.

Yeah, this is absolutely the WORST way to put two hours on a DVD.

You should encode your files at the beginning to a bitrate of about 4.5Mbps. That leaves enough room for compressed audio, menus and navigational overhead.

I suggest that you give up the wizard, and actually learn what you are trying to do.
