Hi! I've been happily burning dvd's for about 2 years but the last couple of times I have made some they won't play in my dvd players! I have checked and re-installed all software and installed new firmware for the drive but still no joy! Out of a series of 6 movies, only 2 would play in our dvd players! They will work fine when playing on a PS2 machine and on the PC! Software I am using is Decryptor to rip, dvd2one (only from original movies) and Nero burning rom. If someone can offer some advice it would be great! I have more than enough coasters in our house! [/i]

dvd decrypter sounds good, you're not having any problems ripping..

dvd2one sounds good, you're not having any problems transcoding..

hmm.. nero huh? well, i've never liked nero for burning anything but cd's..

why dont you try this, download imgtool classic, point it to the folder containing your AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders, output an iso & burn it with dvd decrypter in iso/write mode.. see if it will play in your other dvd players.. i'll betcha a koala bear it will.

as long as its a dvd iso file dvd decrypter will burn it.. imgtool classic is a very good tool for creating iso's..

let me know how it goes.

I've tried 2 different types of media now.....same result on both! I was sort of thinking maybe it's not closing the disks properly or something? I don't know....I'm dumbfounded! Especially since all has been going well for so long! If I burn standard data it's working fine so I'm not really thinking it's my drive packing it in....though it has probably done easily over 1000 burns! I'm just trying this way that Lumis recommended and see how it goes....if that doesn't work....I don't know! It's just strange that it will play on the Playstation 2 not a problem, and the PC, but not on my 2 players!

glad you got it working.. i figured it was nero being nero (for dvd's atleast).. my suggestion would be to aquire yourself a copy of sonic recordnow max 7.3 , its pretty damned good software for burning dvd's.. or you could stick with the free method you've got going now, although it does consume a bit extra time..

lets both enjoy the koala :P

But still.....it doesn't explain why all of a sudden nero has decided not to burn properly! Wierd stuff! But, just bought myself a nice new dual layer dvd burner today so am gonna play with this one too! wooohooo!
