When I try to convert a VIDEO_TS folder I get the message:

"To comply with copyright laws, DVD device input is not allowed. Please select a file or a non-encrypted VIDEO_TS folder from your hard disk."

But the folder is on the harddisk, and I'm sure it's not encrypted (it can be copied easily). What am I doing wrong?

what program are you trying to convert with?

what program did you rip with?

i suggest re-ripping with dvd decrypter, make sure you have the newest version.

I'm using ffmpegX of course. The recording is not from a commercial DVD, but from a TV recording I made with a DVD recorder.

But you are correct, I ripped the DVD with MacTheRipper, and now ffmpegX accepts the file, thanks!
