I have just bought this card and trying to capture my camcorder , i have tried a few settings and software but cant't seem to get good quality. My system is a pentium 2 400Mhz and i have about 5 gig spare to play with. Idealy i want to convert or capture so that i can put them on a cd so that i can play them in my dvd player. I have managed to get a half good picture by using the mpeg 4 codec. Any suggestions.

You'll wanna convert them to vcd later on but to capture you'll need a fast compression codec. I will suggest huffyuv, but to use huffyuv you'll need alot of hd space. you'd be better off using PicVideo MJPEG codec. you can download both of them for free from this site but the PicVideo MJPEG codec leaves a watermark on the video. and the only ways to remove it are to buy the codec for $27 bucks or get a crack from astalavista.com. I use the PicVideo MJpeg codec more often and it uses way less hd space than huffyuv. But huffyuv wont leave a watermark on your video. Hope this helps!
