Is possible to run several instances of tmpegnc to encode seperate parts of a movie??
Here's my machine:
40 gig Maxtor Plus
40 Quatum Fireball
All in Wonder Pro 128
1.2 Ghz Athlon
1 Ghz of PC 133

You can, I use to do it all the time, then I found out about batching your jobs, it turns out to be faster and you can have it shut down your puter when you are done!

It does not impact quality. However, if your PC were to crash in the middle of the encoding you lose all your sessions at the same time. Batching is better in that respect.
