  1. Anyone else noticed this? Since I upgraded from Panther I can't watch my DVDs burned with Pioneer DVD recorder.
Is there any other solution to watch VR mode recorded DVDs?

On the side note, Tiger now properly mounts the discs (Panther couldn't), but the .vro file shows as a named pipe in Terminal. It must be some way of accessing it. If I try to open it with VLC or QT, it just crashes both apps.

is this somehow a problem with software?
Tiger reads my data dvd's which are the same medias i use for movies but sadly to say they wont play my dvdr's either. Not in VLC nor in apple dvd player

funny though, you copy the VIDEO_TS over to the HD off the dvd-r and it will work!!!!!!

  5. DVD-Player plays my backups under Tiger. I'm using a Pioneer 109 in a dual G4. Of all the problems with the drive (mostly speed issues) this isn't one of mine. Backups ripped with MTR>DTOX>Toast 6.09, on various media.

I was not talking about Pioneer DVD burner. I have standalone DVD recorder machine, it's a 310-s model. That machine can record in both VR and Video mode. VR mode can only be recorded on DVD-RW discs and I have problems reading them now. In Panther it was easy to read them just by installing ReadDVD kernel extension that is now broken in 10.4.
Can any owner of the Pixela VRF browser try some VR discs in Tiger and report do they work. I don't want to buy software that doesn't work, unfortunately they don't have the demo or trial download.
