Hi all,
I've got a bunch of .avi files that I want to put onto DVDs. I used VSO DivxToDVD to batch convert 10 of these files and it worked fine. I tried to do another batch convert and it would only allow me to do three at a time. Now I have multiple VIDEO_TS folders with duplicate file names.
Is there an easy way to convert these into one folder with sequential numbering to burn to a DVD?
I've got the standard software that came with my Samsung TS-H552U DVD burner (Nero Express, Nero Recode, Nero Vision Express). I was fiddling around with some of these last night and couldn't figure it out, of course I was in a bit of a hurry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doubt it can be done with Nero, but get TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day trial) and start authoring. You use "Add DVD Video". This then asks for your VIDEO_TS folder. (Thanks jimmalenko!) I suppose you can just add titles, and repeat for each title.

tmpgenc dvd author, add dvd video and select the video_ts folders.
edit: too slow. -
A third vote for TMPGEnc DVD Author here. Using the "Add DVD Video" method, you specify your first VIDEO_TS folder, then it allows you to choose the title from within that and import that as your first track. Then you can add subsequent clips in the same track using the same method, or you can create a new track and add other movies, etc. to their own track.

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Since I just got the DVD burner I was hoping for a free program that works well, I know you get what you pay for.
At least TMPGenc DVD Author has a 30 day trial so I can actually use it. And since I see a lot of people recommending it, it must be worth purchasing.

Here's an idea for newbies who want to add multiple files to a dvd ...
Pgcedit , dose it all and for free .
I have just created a multiple title dvd guide for pgcedit , and now almost finished a bov guide (still working on a bug) .
The bov guide deals with those pictures that appear when a menu sellection is in the selected stage , when not in selected stage , it dissapears , and the best part .... no stupid lame 16 colour crap limit , all mine are 32,000 colours .
For pgcedit , you convert one of your avi files over to 2 seperate streams , an m2v and an mp2 .
To convert an avi to dvd compliant mpeg2 video you may need to resize it to you requirements (pal = 720x576) , nstc ?
Virtualdub can do this and you can use xvid at 100% to keep the file size down , as for the audio , out as wav at 48kbps .
However , if its a propriety codec you'll need to find a program that will convert it to an ordinary compressed avi like xvid .
This can then be converted using bbmpeg , one of the best avi to mpeg encoders available , and totally FREE .
Just set the output to dvd mpeg2 , but dont allow it to multiplex the streams .
These streams a dealt this way .
The audio is converted to ac3 from mp2 using besweet (freeware)
The new audio and the m2v video stream are mutliplexed into a vob by muxman to a new folder .
It is this mini dvd , you open in pgcedit , and from here add the other titles , untill the 4.1 gigabyte true limit is reached .
what is meant by that 4.1 statement , is it should be compatable in almost any dvd player ever made , as some players have problems reading the information towards the perimeter of the disc's .
Each avi should be encoded , muxed to a different folder , then brought into the pgcedit project .
Always choice "copy vob" option .
Connecting them so they play one after the other is simple .
If you want fancy menu's , there are a few guides online , and my pgcedit guides will be available shortly (once this bug is sorted) .
Give it a go , it costs you nothing ....
