Go into BIOS, usually hold down the hit the delete key while booting, and you want to look for the boot order selector. Probably the second selection in your BIOS.
It's probably set to boot first from floppy or Hard drive 0. Move to the selection you want to change with the arrow keys. Set it to CD-ROM by using the page up-down keys. Save and exit.
With your XP cd in your player, boot the computer and the disc should lead you through the rest of the steps. I usually delete all partitions, repartition, then format. After that the OS will install automatically.
After you are all done, you can go back into BIOS and set the boot drive back to HD 0 or floppy, whichever it was before, though it will work OK without this, just a little slower boot.
