    Hey.

Is there any software or Hardware that I can capture from DV or analoge (using advc-300) video into MPEG 2 in DVD quality (say, like you
get from encoding in Tmpgenc at the highest Bitrate) ????

Hauppauge 250 or standalone DVD recorder. You take the ADVC out of the equation, if you still want to use it I'm not aware of any lower end cards that accept firewire for on the fly encoding except for the higher end ones like DVStorm and the matrox line. Not to say that there isn't.........

As far as software you need a much more powerful system that the one listed in your specs.

ADS Tech's USB Instant DVD+DV will convert a dv feed to dvd compliant mpegs -- it connects to your computer via USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 (higher bitrates available with USB 2.0).

For software, you could try some of the latest Ulead packages that allow you to capture on-the-fly converted mpegs (your system looks powerful enough, but you need to make sure you are optimized for video capture/editing). Ulead's VideoStudio and MovieFactory (as well as some others) allows you to capture direct to mpeg. The quality is subjective -- download a Trial to see if it mets your needs...

Also, I'm not positive, but I think the Mainconcept standalone mpeg encoder can also capture/convert on-the-fly (Ulead uses a version of the MC encoder).

NeoDVD will accept ADVC input and can author for you almost on the fly. I say almost because it will take a little time after you finish capturing to finish the authoring process, but for quick n dirty straight to IFOs and VOBs, IMO it is well worth checking out.
    If in doubt, Google it.
