Does anyone thinks that manufacturers of DVD writers (LG, HP, Philips, Liteon, whatever) will come out with firmware upgrades with capability of burning (direct) labels onto disks?
Firmware upgrades for existing DVD burners?
Or (due to the consumistic nature of our modern society) to have the LigheScribe features will we have ANYWAY to buy new DVD burners?

I believe there are a few select writers that may be upgradable to lightscribe via firmware, but I do not recall which models. Most likely you will have to buy a new DVD burner. This should not be a huge problem, with the low prices of DVD burners. I would expect prices to be in the $60 range soon, if they are not already. (note: I am talking about online prices from places like newegg.com - retail store prices often remain high).
Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.
